Using words to make sense of experiences.

I write short stories, essays & poetry, and I volunteer in prison.

Colombian (by birth), Swiss (by marriage), and Spanish (acquired from my Spanish mother), I am the mother of three grown up children who have left the nest.

Years back, I studied economics in Colombia, and met my husband of 30+ years in Washington DC while doing an exchange year at Georgetown University. We have been living in Europe ever since (Bern, Bruxelles, Geneva, Zurich).

In the past 25 years, I worked in the fields of economic development, international relations, conflict resolution and impact investments. Since 2018, I have been a volunteer language teacher in prison, where I also run a book club. Recently, I have discovered an interest in creative writing. I write in both English and Spanish, this blog is about this, relatively new, passion, you will find texts in both languages. Photography is another entertainment of mine, most photos on this site are mine.

In another recent courageous move, I co-founded El Boga Foundation, a cultural centre in Mompox, Colombia https://www.elbogamompox.com/
